It’s fair to say that this outfit’s been inspired by the animal kingdom. Fluffy chicken-esque mohair top, meets elephant trousers with a little pop of bunny rabbit. I wore this ensemble for a night out last week with an added vamp lip and found it to be a good mid point between dressy and casual. Often hard to master I think, especially when you’re not wanting the inconvenience of a jacket (and cloakrooms) yet cannot brave the outside world with too much bare skin just yet.

I’ve had the trousers for probably over a year now, yet me being me had just left them untouched and forgotten at the back of my wardrobe. Shame on me! So so glad I’ve discovered them again now. They’re such a light flattering material with a cute drawstring waist and I absolutely love the all-over lightly embossed elephant silhouette print. I turned up the cuffs too and secured them with a stitch which seemed to make them hang perfectly when worn with heels.

To complete the outfit, I opted for my bright coloured Schuh platforms. A black pair would have been far too safe of an option for this ‘fun’ ensemble! Apologies for posting an outfit where part of it cannot be purchased but a good alternative to the elephant trousers would be a pair of plain tailored joggers or leather joggers.. I have been eyeing these up too!

A spot of outfit recycling will definitely take place here, I’m thinking it will also work with flat shoes/sandals for the daytime!

What do you think of this look? Are the elephants doing it for you too?
