I picked up this vintage dresser from one of those second hand, reclaimed furniture yards at a bargain price of around £80. If you’ve never been to one, you do not know what you’re missing! They’re like aladdin’s cave's with amazing quirky and unique vintage pieces at great prices. So if like me, you despise flatpack furniture and want something a bit different, you’ll find yourself in furniture heaven! It’s really well made and is solid wood which I love and the drawers are so long and deep so it’s really surprising just how much you can fit in! I also love that they’re different sizes which has proved to be perfect for storing my beauty bits in.

As I mentioned in my last post, I’m moving to London in a months time and although I’ll be leaving this dresser here at home in my current bedroom, I thought it’s time to get things organised! I’ve cleared out so many of my beauty products and cosmetics, purely because no individual could have possibly needed/used that amount and I really hate clutter. Now that I’ve got it down to an acceptable amount, I’ve separated them so each drawer has a theme and so everything is laid out so I can see it all. The ‘everyday products’ drawer is the one I reach to the most. I thought it was such a good idea to have everything I need and want on a daily basis all stored in once place so that I needn't rummage through the whole dresser. I tend to rotate products around into here as and when I start on a new product to keep things fresh!

I’ve had this dresser a fair few months now and I’m still toying with the idea of painting it white/ a slight ivory colour. Half of me loves the shabby look and the warmth that the wood gives off although I have a feeling it may end up getting painted.

Your opinions are welcomed, I’d love to know what you think in terms of keeping it bare or painting it... leave a comment below :).

P.s: Please excuse the annoyingly dull photos, the sun just wouldn’t stay out for me today... bring on Summer!

  2. Wow so much make-up, I have a plastic drawer unit which I use and I'm always forgetting about what I have shoved in the back! Good luck with the move to London!

  5. This is SO creative and Pinterest-worthy! I'm in love! It's such an adorable way to store your beauty products, and certainly more unique than your classic makeup bag. I particularly love the decorations you paired with your dresser!

I agree that flea market/bargain shops are sometimes the best places to find one-of-a-kind treasures ;) I am in living in NYC now for uni but back when I was home in LA, the city had THE best flea markets and the most gorgeous vintage furniture! If I had my own apartment, I would definitely be roaming the markets for some unique pieces! Sadly, NYC doesn't have very quality flea markets... things are still VERY pricey and don't even look that good to begin with!

I think your dresser would look stunning if painted in a creamy, off-white color! It'll have such a shabby-chic look that would be perfect! :-) I say go for it!

You've got such a wonderful blog Zoey! ^_^ I am now your newest follower. Looking forward to your upcoming posts and hope we can stay in touch!
