I’ve got to admit, It’s quite rare for me to purchase new cosmetics without having previously read reviews or been given a recommendation. I think reading blogs/ watching youtube videos beforehand is half of the fun of a beauty purchase anyway and my beauty wish list continues to grow and grow! Loreal is
Volume Million Lashes Noir Excess
I saw this advertised a while back but had actually completely forgotten about it! I opted for the noir excess extra black one which is now the second release within the million lashes range. As with anyone that’s used Benefit’s they’re real mascara, I’m left with really high expectations of a mascara and want both the brush and the formula to be close to perfection. Firstly, the brush on this million lashes wand is absolutely amazing, it’s perfectly shaped, with so many little plastic bristles that ensure every single lash is coated. It also says it’s a new ‘anti-clump' brush shape, which I’d definitely agree with! It’s left my lashes as long and as thick as I’ve seen them and I really think this it’s on par with my previous holy grail, Benefit’s they’re real. In fact as it’s available in the extra black option it may just be my new favourite and there’s the appealing factor that it’s pretty much half the price of They’re real!
Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer
My skin has been looking a bit dull and desperately in need of a bit of an extra glow. As I love the dewy look that I’ve been desperately lacking I thought thought this lumi maqigue might give me a little helping hand (I’ve got to admit the pretty sounding name dragged me in too!). It can be used as a primer alone or underneath foundation and can also be used as a highlighter on your cheekbones and brow bone. I’ve tried it out both ways and I’ve actually really been liking using a small amount underneath my light coverage foundation, to give my face a healthy glow! Some days I’ve applied it twice and put it onto my cheekbones on top of my foundation too and it works really well as a light, subtle highlighter that’s perfect for the daytime. It hasn’t effected the staying power of my foundation which I was a bit worried about and it isn’t shimmery (more of pearlescent finish) so I’m thankfully not left looking like a disco ball. If you’re after a bit of a healthy glow then I’d really recommend this, I have a feeling it will work really well come Summer too as it’s not too heavy!
Nude Magique BB Powder
Powder-wise I always use Mac’s mineral skinfinish and I absolutely love it, although lately I’ve needed something a little more mattifying on my t-zone areas. This caught my eye because it’s designed to mimic the ‘5 dimensions of velvety nude skin’ with no shine, a smooth resurfaced finish, undetectable coverage, fresh look, 8 hour matte complexion and a durable lightweight coverage. That’s pretty much anything you could ever want from a powder and it’s been doing the job of keeping the shine at bay whilst looking natural. Although it won’t be completely taking over from my beloved Mac powder, it is a really good alternative for those that have combination/oily skin.
Overall it was three very successful spontaneous picks! Have you tried any of these products?
