The SS14 Platforms

I’m sure I won’t be the only one to be eager to step up a generous 4/5 inches this Summer, as the platform shoe is a prominent trend for this SS14! Platforms graced the catwalks in all shapes and colours at some point during nearly each and every show, but the style I’m focusing on here is inspired by the likes of Stella McCartney and Alexander Wang. It’s all about the cleated soles!

A stark white chunky block platform (along with black for versatility!) is most definitely at the top of my Summer wardrobe wish list and I’ve started off my collection with a cute pair of mint green sandals from Schuh. I managed to snap these up for a mere £14 from eBay when the seller had a 50% sale on, as opposed to the £40 they were from Schuh (Don’t you just love that sense of achievement you get from an eBay find!?).

The Stella-esque slip ons can be found on choies.com or through multiple eBay sellers at the fraction of the price and although the delivery waiting time is a huge put off, I can see them becoming an evening footwear staple come summer! I love that you can get slightly lower platforms too (but without having to compromise on that all important sole), they’ll all be so cute for everyday laid back looks! The light pink River Island beauts that I’ve been teased with so many times through Instagram and Twitter seem to have disappeared from their website which is quite odd, but it may be a blessing in disguise as I’m trying so so hard to avoid purchasing them too...

Cleated sole platforms have a sports luxe feel to them which I think instantly makes your look appear stylish yet effortless (with the bonus of being so comfortable).. perfect for the Summer months!
Are you lusting over these too?

  1. It is funny how fashion always repeats itself after at least 10 years. I remember when the Spice Girls were hot every girl had platform shoes… These are great pairs… my favorite up there is the Top shop.. I am in love with Jeffrey Campbell as well…

  4. I absolutely LOVE this trend for sandals. I think they're kinda like the ugly shoe but there is something about them that I love!

  6. They look comfy but I think they will make my legs look even shorter. However I will give them a try this S/S, I do like the New Look ones, I think I could make them work with some outfit.
