The MIDI Heel

A Company mag a month is an absolute must. I’m even basing my final major project on it at uni, which means I can read it whilst procrastinating, yet justify it to myself as ‘research’- perfect! This months issue with the gorgeous Emma Stone on the front is whats sparked inspiration for this post.

I saw this page along with its midi heel title and instantly thought; I have always associated kitten/low heels with being awfully ugly. Yet they release these beauties under the name ‘midi heel’ and act oblivious to the kitten heel ever existing by saying that they’re 'heels that you can walk in' and are ‘genius'! Now THAT is genius!

Okay so a few of them may be a couple of centimetres taller than the generic kitten heel, but these midi’s open up a whole new world to us six-inch-heel wearers.

My top 3 picks :

£29.99 H&M ‣ £29.99 Zara ‣ £75.00 Asos

These are all so daytime-doable and my numerous new pairs of printed high waisted h&m trousers are crying out to be teamed with them. I’m thinking weddings (I actually have two in the next 2 months yayy!), dates, meals, interviews and family occasions will be the times when I’m most thankful for this mere heel height. I never want to be the leggy grandchild towering high above my grandparents, nor do I like making my boyfriend look like an emasculated midget. Gone are the days where I’m having to decide between unflattering flats or a 5” platform.

I love that the majority of them are reasonably priced too- time to go shopping for suree!
‘Gor high or go home’ is a thing of the past!

  2. With my being just a little 5foot girl I need some height in my life! Whenever I try smaller heels to look sophisticated I can never pull them off! However, I may just bite the bullet and buy some!

    1. Being 5’7, the midi heel is definitely a welcomed change for me! But I think any height can pull them off, just gives you a bit of a lift as opposed to flats xx
