Thoughts On The Brits Red Carpet '13

Although I didn’t watch the Brits last night, I’ve now had a chance to look through all of the red carpet snaps. Personally I look forward to the red carpet rather than the actual award ceremonies, so looking through all of the press images is always a highlight for me.

There’s some I absolutely loved and then there’s those that I think look as though they got dressed in the dark, so here’s what I thought..

I loved..
Aluna Francis wearing Theyskens’ Theory
Aluna looks absolutely stunning, this metallic dress looks as though it was made for her. I love the gradient effect that shows off her amazing long legs and balances out the clustered high neck body.

Rebecca Ferguson
I’m pretty sure it’s impossible for Rebecca Ferguson to look anything other than absolutely gorgeous. I love everything about this outfit, other than her shoes. It’s difficult to see them properly but they detract my attention away from the otherwise beautiful dress and I think a simple black pair would have been more appropriate, the dress really does speak for itself.

Paloma Faith wearing Dolce and Gabbana
Although I’m not a fan of her hair, makeup and accessories, I think this Dolce and Gabbana number is absolutely beautiful. The nude fabric and high neck line is right up my street and the bejewelled detail is so eye catching.

Taylor Swift wearing Elie Saab
A couple of weeks ago, Taylor was one of my favourite picks from the Grammys wearing a pretty feminine, fairytale like gown. Yesterday she definitely proved that she could work a fierce, sexy ensemble and still look equally as flawless.

Little Mix
I love how Perry, Jesy, Leigh-anne and Jade always have their own little individual styles yet manage to work it as a group. I cannot stand groups that go for matchy-matchy ensembles, the whole same outfit different colour thing really reminds me of a cheesy 90's group. My favourite outfits out of the four are Leigh-anne’s floor length white dress and Jades glitzy cute dress and bow.

What was she thinking?..

Katherine Jenkins wearing Stella McCartney
This dress creates such an awful silhouette and literally does nothing for her. I absolutely despise satin shoes, especially in this garish colour. The whole ensemble reminds me of something you could purchase in the high street shop ‘Pilot’ (I’m sure you all remember that?!), and that definitely closed down for a reason haha.

Rita Ora wearing Ulyana Sergeenko
I really dislike the fabric of this dress, it’s too thick, has many creases in it and doesn’t seem to hang right. I also have noo idea what is going on around her bum. There’s accentuating curves, and then there’s this..

Lana Del Rey wearing Chanel
Lana looks as though she’s come straight from a family day out in the park, this ill fitting shirt dress really doesn’t seem suitable for the red carpet. With access to the best stylists and designers in the world, this outfit choice really baffles me.

What did you think of the red carpet? Do agree with my good & bad picks?

  2. Rita Ora looked so bad, what was she thinking! Lana was pretty disappointing too, she usually looks smoking hot!
