Over the past few weeks I've found myself living in monochrome and being drawn to all neon accessories. Green/yellow neon. I haven't ventured into the other colours yet, green and yellow neon seem to work for me and I just love how the smallest neon accessory can transform an outfit.
Without realising, I've quickly built up a little collection, so here's how I've been accessorising with neon:
Necklace- £2 Primark ٥ Nail varnish- £3.99 Maybelline colour show ٥ Earrings- £6 Topshop ٥ Hi tops- £30 River Island ٥ Oversized clutch £5 (from £20) H&M
My collection of statement necklaces is ridiculously huge, they're such an easy way to transform an outfit and I tend to wear them with jumpers to make my outfit a bit more personal. I didn't hesitate when I saw this one, at just £2 it was an absolute bargain and I've got so much wear out of it.
I'm a 'one pair of earrings' girl. I have one single pair of smallish studs that I love and wear daily until I get bored of them or find another. These ones are perfect, just the right size and bring in a subtle splash of neon to liven each outfit.
The green neon nail varnish is part of Maybelline's fairly new 'colour show' collection. I don't think this would look as nice with paler skin and it did take three coats to make it look good, but I love it!
I dread to think the amount of white hi tops I've gone through. Now that I've discovered that wearing them for a casual uni night out is never going to end well (they come back more black/grey than white), I thought it was about time I invested in a new pair that I’m not going to ruin. The neon fabric inside makes these a little bit different and I can't wait to be able to wear them with shorts and bare legs- summer needs to hurry itself!
This oversized clutch is made from what I call 'wetsuit material'. I'm starting to think it might be for some sort of notebook, or perhaps a wash bag/makeup bag but I love it as a clutch. The material makes it a less dressy alternative and I think it would look great with so many outfits.
Next on my list is the beautiful green/yellow knitted jumper form Topshop, and the lighter knit from Missguided. Are you a fan of neon? How are you wearing it?
