I'm absolutely obsessed with New York to say the least, I can't even express just how much I love it. I was lucky enough to be taken there for my 21st birthday last June and it was truly the best 5 days of my life.
Not only did I spend the whole time wondering around with my mouth open in amazement (and with a very achey neck from looking up all the time!), but the whole buzz of the city really did it for me. It was SO much more than just a shopping trip and I now know exactly why it's called, "The city that never sleeps".
As I'm so passionate about going into fashion PR, there really couldn't be a better place for me to be and the fast paced lifestyle literally gave me so much energy and enthusiasm. Even when we stopped for lunch in a swanky cafe, I was watching the business women just wanting to be them and wondering where they work/what they were doing. It's fair to say you've got more chance of getting run over on the pavement by the sheer masses of people, but that's exactly what I love. I want to be the girl running around balancing 4 coffee's in one hand, with a load of clothing samples draped over my arm, weaving my way around the crowds to my back to back meetings whilst working my way through a long to do list and being called up at any hour of the day. The possibilities of NYC makes me want to graft harder than ever, and then work even harder once I’m there! Even writing this is getting me all excited!
When redesigning my blog layout I knew that I wanted to keep the colour pallet simple and incorporate my favourite photograph that I took in New York. Here's the full photo:
I spent hours looking back through my New York photos, making me want to go back there more than ever- but this time not just for a fleeting visit. When I look back I realised just how much I saw in the street whilst making my way from shop to shop and tourist attractions, things you really wouldn't just stumble upon anywhere else. A fashion photoshoot, a Tifanny's photoshoot, Miss America and a music video being filmed, and a butterfly landing right before my eyes are amongst what I passed in the street during my short stay there. I even had people approach me in the street and asked if I’d be photographed for a fashion shoot and take part in a music video, unfortunately I was off back home but how cool is that?! Only in the streets of NY!
Whilst trying hard to resist sharing all of my 1227 photographs, here's a snippet of my NY trip:
Is it really cheesy and cliche to say I felt I belonged there?
